Okeydokey. I haven't updated for a while, and lots has happened in the past few days, so here goes.
Mom and I went down to Quincy to get Javert from the shelter--heh, that sounds weird--on Oct. 20, 2008, which also happens to have been my 17th birthday. He's working out quite well, except for the fact that he's not housetrained and has us quite paranoid whenever he sniffs the floor or paces. The first night wasn't too bad--he only cried in his crate for 20 minutes or so (I still had to sleep on the couch). Second night was bad--he cried all...night...long. Third night wasn't bad--he started crying and I threw him outside. About fifteen minutes later I let him back in, but put his crate out in the garage and didn't hear a peep. Last night he spent the night in the garage again. *collapses*
BEFORE we got Javvie on the 20th, we went on a shopping spree...my biggest gift was an mp3 player which I named Erik. But Javert got a hold of it, chewed up the corner, and now the screen is all wonky. *snarls* Oh yes, pictures: here we go!

So there's Javvie. And Erik, pre-chewing-episode. Oh yes! HistoryKnight also had a birthday on the 20th--here's what she gave me:

I lurves it--I'm using in as I work through the memoirs of Vidocq. Ah yes, and here's what I gave her:

I couldn't decide which to give...XD
I haven't uploaded any pictures for a while, so here's a bunch of doodle-art:

You can see it on my website here.
Oh. I was in a parade last Saturday--see, my town's courthouse had its hundredth birthday, so there is a huge centennial celebration going on. Anyway, there was an opportunity to dress up, which I pounced upon, and 'went' as a maid. The costume didn't cost a cent--well, except for the skirt. Mom bought the skirt a couple of years ago in Williamsburg at a reenactment store; the mob-cap and apron I borrowed from our pastor's wife. It was a lot of fun. I got to lead Colletta in it as well and convinced one of my riding students to ride Colletta. Pictures are as follows:

Ah yes. And Wednesday we had a little fire in the tall grass next to our house. We heat with wood, see, and every couple of days we empty the ashes out in the tall grass, but I guess there must have been some hot coals in there as well. Long story short, the half-rotton tree about thirty feet upwind got one of its limbs caught on fire and I had to call the fire department. Yeah. It was exciting. Just start at this picture:

Have I missed anything??? *glances at muses*
Javert: No, evil captress, just stop the post. The poor people out there don't want to hear about every aspect of your personal life.
Erik: I agree whole-heartedly.
Okay then...I can take a hint...go ahead, laugh at me, ya dumb muses...*wanders off muttering*
